The result was a stunning handmade display, lovingly crafted to pay homage to the brave soldiers, sailors, airmen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

In the weeks leading up to the occasion, residents channelled their creativity into a variety of beautiful pieces. The display features tissue paper poppies, delicate knitted freefalling poppies, and egg cup poppies, all crafted with care and precision. To add a personal and artistic touch, residents also hand-drew, cut out, and painted figures of soldiers, planes, and other poignant symbols of remembrance.

The completed display has become a centrepiece in the home, inspiring reflection and admiration from all who see it. Families and friends visiting Valerian Court are warmly encouraged to take a moment to enjoy the display and even snap a photo with loved ones. It’s a wonderful way to create lasting memories while reflecting on the importance of this special day.

This collaborative project not only commemorates those who served but also highlights the creativity and sense of community that thrives at Valerian Court. We’re so proud of our residents for their hard work and dedication in bringing this meaningful display to life.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this beautiful tribute—together, we continue to honour the past while building a warm and supportive community for the present.
