A Month of Creativity and Connection at Valerian Court

At Valerian Court, we believe that a fulfilling life is built on celebrating hobbies, exploring creativity, and making space for joyful connections. This month has been no exception, with our residents coming together for a range of heartwarming and engaging activities that continue to showcase the incredible talents and personalities within our home.

For one of our residents, Elizabeth, music has been a lifelong passion and she has played the violin for as long as she can remember. She treated us all to a delightful performance last week and filled the home with beautiful melodies. Elizabeth’s talent and dedication to playing were an inspiration to everyone, and her performance reminded us just how powerful music can be in evoking cherished moments from the past. At Valerian Court, we encourage our residents to continue embracing the hobbies and skills they love most and Elizabeth’s performance was a perfect example of how personal passions can benefit the entire community.

Another highlight this month came from our Arts and Crafts sessions, which are a regular part of life here at Valerian Court. These activities allow our residents to express their thoughts and feelings creatively and get a physical craft to enjoy and show off at the end. From paintings to handmade decorations, the pieces they create are often displayed proudly around the home for everyone to admire.

Our Baking Club has also been a wonderful addition to the weekly planner. This resident-requested activity has quickly become a firm favourite, and it’s easy to see why! Last week, the group worked together to bake an assortment of scones and there was plenty to share with friends and any loved ones visiting!

From music and creativity to the simple joy of baking, these activities are a testament to the vibrant community spirit at Valerian Court Care Home. Here, every resident is encouraged to explore their interests and feel truly at home.
